For water and sewerage tankers, this includes verifying that all compartment valves are sealed and that pressure systems are within operating limits. Tipper truck loads must be checked for weight distribution and load restraint before any journey begins.
Transport companies should implement pre-departure checklists that drivers complete before every trip. This creates accountability and provides documentation in the event of an incident or audit.
